To the Sattva Community
Dear Sangha,
Thank you for your interest in our week of Bhakti, held at the Sattva Retreat - a place that has been home and sanctuary to many of us over the years.
This training is now organised independently by Simon Glöde of The Harmonium Course, together with co-teachers Char Holmes and Annemarie Brown. Our love for gathering in this way remains as strong as ever, and we're glad to hold this week as an invitation into devotion, music, and community.
Consider this gathering an offering to the practice, to the land, and to the people who show up for one another when we come together like this. What follows is about the music, the practice, and the community we build together from here.
With love,
Char, Annemarie & Simon

Bhakti Retreat & Training
We gather in sangha not to perform, but to be in - and to experience devotion through our voices, mantras, and 6 days in community, learning at the source: the foothills of the Himalayan mountains.
This is both a retreat and a training. For those who feel called to accompany their chanting on the harmonium, there will be daily harmonium sessions for all levels, from complete beginners to more experienced practitioners.
Each morning, following meditation, we move through a full yoga journey to establish our intention and awaken the bhava - the inner state from which we chant.
Through daily kirtan, satsang and morning practices, you're
invited into a direct experience of the transformative power of yoga, mantra, and sacred sound. While our kirtan style leans more Western, our focus stays rooted in living a life of Bhakti; of service and surrender.
We welcome local pandits into our days and take part in ancient rituals and fire ceremonies in and around the retreat.
Many who join us value the balance of structure and spaciousness; the depth of the teachings, the fun of daily kirtan, the guidance of experienced teachers, and the freedom to rest and integrate. The atmosphere is devotional and grounded, intimate yet expansive.
If you feel called toward sacred music, toward understanding the heart of mantra, or toward reconnecting with your own voice in a meaningful way, this immersion offers a place to study and expand - supported by community, tradition, and each other.

“Whoever offers me with devotion a leaf, a flower, a fruit, or water, that offering of love, made with a pure heart, I accept.”
- The Bhagavad Gita
